Cooking for Two

Hello! My name is Kaity. Well, actually it’s Kaitlyn. But most of my family and friends call me Kaity.

I love to eat. I mean, who doesn’t? And it’s especially great to find recipes that look good and are pretty easy to make.

It's so fun coming from a large family!

Although, it seems like the majority of the meals out there are for a family of four to six or even more. Coming from a big family, I know how to handle those large meals, and it was quite a shock when I was a freshman in college learning to cook for one. One time I made pasta for myself, and had so many leftovers that I was eating it for five days, and I still had to throw some out. Boy, was I sick of that pasta.

After getting married, I had to adjust again and learn to cook for two.

Similar to cooking for just myself, coming up with recipes for two can be difficult. It takes practice, but now, I feel more confident in planning recipes for two.

I love to spend less time cooking so I can have more time to get other things done. However, when I am cooking, I love it when my husband joins in because he adds his little twist to our meals. “Only one cup of cheese? Come on, let’s add just a little more.” ...as he adds two more handfuls of cheese to the dish. Hey! Improvising in the kitchen may lead to new family favorites.

The best part of all this is that my husband and I are currently college students. We are going to school full-time, and working full-time jobs. We graduate with our Bachelor's degrees this coming April.

And, we’re still newly-weds!

So that means that we don’t have a ton of fancy cooking gadgets and equipment, so you won’t need to go out to purchase a bunch of new appliances. You’ll just need the basics.

Anyways, my goal is to provide you with great recipe options. Whether you are in college and have a date for Friday night, or just got married and want to impress your husband or wife, you’ll find all those affordable, great, and easy recipes here.
