If a new neighbor moves in, someone you know is sick, your friend needs a “pick-me-up,” what can you do for them? Something that I have always enjoyed receiving myself is food! A plate of cookies, some popcorn, a warm bowl of soup, you name it!
Here are a few ideas for those that may be in need:
1. Baked Treats
Who doesn’t love treats! Whether they are store bought, or you deliver them homemade, I am sure your neighbors, friends, family, etc. will love them! Be sure to keep them simple in case allergies are prevalent. If you are worried, you could include the recipe on a card.
2. A Movie-Night Gift Basket
This one is so easy and requires little work on your end. Buy a popcorn bucket, throw in a few packages of popcorn, some candy, and you are good to go! It is especially fun if the family has kids. Seeing their eyes light up is so fun! I loved receiving popcorn from neighbors growing up.
3. A New Neighbors Gift Basket
Moving is hard work, but when all is said and done, it is so worth it! A simple way to welcome the new neighbors is by buying a simple kitchen product like a cutting board, or kitchen spoons. You can also include things like hand soap, or a pack of Gatorade.
4. Recipe Gift
One thing that I loved as a newlywed, was a recipe gift! At my bridal shower, I asked for the gifts to just be recipes. It was so fun! They brought recipes, the food needed to make those recipes, basic kitchen items. I loved having a mini cookbook from those whom I cared about and loved, and received lots of compliments how they thought it was a clever idea.
Let me know what recipe gifts you like and enjoy!
