Do you ever have a problem with coming up with something to eat for dinner? Are you sick of the same old recipes? Are you wanting to try out some new recipes?
These are the exact questions that I may ask myself from time to time. It can be hard kicking your old habits and trying new things. And it’s especially hard when you don’t know how the recipe will turn out. However, I’m here to provide you a few tips and tricks of how to overcome this problem!
#1 Make a list
Whether you use your phone or a piece of paper, writing down what you would like to eat for the week, as well as the ingredients and items you need, really helps with meal planning. Plus, it makes it easier at the store as you don’t forget what you need. I personally enjoy using the “reminders” app for the iPhone. It’s simple and I can easily check it off my list without needing a pen and paper.
#2 Try different apps
There are numerous apps that help with recipes, meal planning and prepping, grocery store lists, and so much more. Whatever tool you are looking for, I would suggest downloading a few apps and seeing which one you like the best! Every one is different and if that app makes your life easier, then go for it! I use the iPhone “reminders” app for meal prepping and if there is something else that my husband would like to eat for the week, I set it towards the bottom of the list, so that I remember to add it into next week’s rotation.
#3 Finding new recipes
I like Pinterest. Don’t get me wrong. But sometimes Pinterest may filter what I am looking at and if I look up one waffle recipe, my feed will only show waffle recipes. One day, I was on the hunt for a new app that would show me many different recipes, so that it would inspire me for new ideas. Then I found "allrecipes." You can tailor what recipes you are interested in and it gives you wonderful ideas.
Occasionally, it can be difficult trying to figure out what you would like for dinner or what you need to buy when you go to the store. Using an app, a list, or something else can help make these decisions easier. Hopefully these tips and tricks help just a little bit about what to do when you have one of these questions.
